Lower Back Pain (LBP) is a major cause of inability to work. Prevalence of LBP reaches 90% of the world's population. This research was conducted in a population of medical students UPN Veteran Jakarta. The objective of this study are to ascertain prevalence of LBP and whether an association between the risk factors and LBP complain. Measuring tool to assess the LBP complain to be good for NMQ questionnaire which has been validated and translated into Indonesian. The instrument for measuring height and weight were stature meters and scales underfoot. For drinking coffee and smoking habits variables, participants were asked to fill out additional questionnaire and interview. The design in this study is a cross-sectional study of the 106 research subjects. The collected data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate analysis. The incidence of lower back pain at FK UPN third level students is 66%,that’s more women than men. Chi-square test showed that there was a relationship between the sexes (p = 0.033) and the coffee drinking habits (p = 0.000) with the incidence of low back pain. There are no significant association between the risk factors BMI (p=0,410), smoking (p=1,000), and the weight of the bag lecture (p=1,000) with NPB.
