Infeksi saluran pernapasan akut adalah penyakit saluran pernapasan akut yang dapat ditandai dengan gelaja seperti batuk, pilek, serak, demam dan mengeluarkan sputum yang berlangsung hingga 14 hari. Tujuan studi kasus ini ialah mendeskripsikan penerapan batuk efektif pada anak usia 6-12 tahun dengan ISPA di Rumah Sakit TK II Dustira Cimahi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada studi kasus ini adalah menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan proses keperawatan. Metode pengumpulan data melalui anamnesa, pemeriksaan fisik, observasi dan dokumentasi berupa pendekatan proses keperawatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan batuk efektif pada anak dengan ISPA dapat membantu untuk mengurangi penumpukan sputum. Latihan batuk efektif dapat membantu pasien untuk mengeluarkan sputum dan mengurangi penumpukan sputum khususnya pada anak yang belum mengetahui cara batuk yang efektif. Kesimpulan setelah dilakukan tindakan keperawatan selama tiga hari adalah bersihan jalan napas tidak efektif dapat teratasi sesuai harapan. Saran yang ditujukan kepada pasien dan keluarga diharapkan dapat selalu menerapkan gaya hidup sehat serta dapat melaksanakan tindakan non farmakologis secara mandiri dan rutin. ABSTRACT Acute respiratory infection is an acute respiratory disease that can be characterized by symptoms such as cough, runny nose, hoarseness, fever and sputum that lasts up to 14 days. The purpose of this case study is to describe the application of effective coughing in children aged 6-12 years with ARI at TK II Dustira Cimahi Hospital. The research method that used in this case study is a qualitative descriptive design with a nursing process approach. Methods of data collection through history taking, physical examination, observation and documentation in the form of a nursing process approach. The results showed that the application of effective coughing in children with ARI can help to reduce sputum accumulation. Effective coughing exercises can help patients to expel sputum and reduce sputum accumulation, especially in children who do not know how to cough effectively. The conclusion after nursing actions for three days is that ineffective airway clearance can be resolved as expected. Suggestions addressed to patients and families are expected to always apply a healthy lifestyle and be able to carry out non-pharmacological actions independently and routinely.
